Related Product Information for anti-MIP-3 ALPHA antibody
Rabbit anti Human MIP-3 alpha antibody recognizes human MIP-3 alpha, (Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 3 alpha), otherwise known as CCL20, a 70 amino acid CC chemokine predominantly expressed by the liver, lymph nodes, appendix, spleen and pancreas and also by the thymus, small intestine, foetal lungs and PBLs. MIP-3 alpha acts as a chemoattractant for memory T lymphocytes, immature dendritic cells and B lymphocytes, being the only CC chemokine known to bind to the G-protein linked 7-transmembrane receptor CCR6. Further properties of MIP-3 alpha include antimicrobial activity, inhibition of the in vitro proliferation of bone marrow immature myeloid progenitors and the stimulation of the growth and migration of pancreatic carcinoma cells.

NCBI Description

This antimicrobial gene belongs to the subfamily of small cytokine CC genes. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The protein encoded by this gene displays chemotactic activity for lymphocytes and can repress proliferation of myeloid progenitors. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]

Uniprot Description

CCL20: Chemotactic factor that attracts lymphocytes and, slightly, neutrophils, but not monocytes. Inhibits proliferation of myeloid progenitors in colony formation assays. May be involved in formation and function of the mucosal lymphoid tissues by attracting lymphocytes and dendritic cells towards epithelial cells. C-terminal processed forms have been shown to be equally chemotactically active for leukocytes. Possesses antibacterial activity E.coli ATCC 25922 and S.aureus ATCC 29213. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The MIP-3 ALPHA ccl20 (Catalog #AAA221726) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's MIP-3 ALPHA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Functional Assays (FN), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB). ELISA: Maximum Dilution: 0.5ug/ml; Functional Assays: Minimum Dilution: 15.0; Maximum Dilution: 18.0ug/ml; Immunohistology - Paraffin: Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 0.1; Maximum Dilution: 0.2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MIP-3 ALPHA ccl20 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MIP-3 ALPHA, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
