Merlin, NT (Moesin-ezrin-radixin-like Protein, ACN, BANF, Neurofibromin 2, Neurofibromin-2, NF2, Schwannomerlin, Schwannomin, SCH) (HRP)
ELISA: 1:1,000
Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of Merlin Antibody (N-term) in NCI-H460 cell line lysates (35ug/lane). NF2 (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Merlin Antibody (N-term) IHC analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human lung carcinoma followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of the Merlin Antibody (N-term) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Confocal immunofluorescent analysis of Merlin Antibody (N-term) with Hela cell followed by Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated goat anti-rabbit lgG (green). DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclear (blue).)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a protein that is similar to some members of the ERM (ezrin, radixin, moesin) family of proteins that are thought to link cytoskeletal components with proteins in the cell membrane. This gene product has been shown to interact with cell-surface proteins, proteins involved in cytoskeletal dynamics and proteins involved in regulating ion transport. This gene is expressed at high levels during embryonic development; in adults, significant expression is found in Schwann cells, meningeal cells, lens and nerve. Mutations in this gene are associated with neurofibromatosis type II which is characterized by nervous system and skin tumors and ocular abnormalities. Two predominant isoforms and a number of minor isoforms are produced by alternatively spliced transcripts. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
Merlin: a moesin-ezrin-radizin-like protein. Interacts with cell-surface proteins, proteins involved in cytoskeletal dynamics and proteins involved in regulating ion transport. Expressed at high levels during embryonic development; in adults, significant expression is found in Schwann cells, meningeal cells, lens and nerve. Mutations are associated with neurofibromatosis type II. Two predominant isoforms and eight minor isoforms are produced by alternatively spliced transcripts.

Product Notes
The NF2 nf2 (Catalog #AAA6487760) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Merlin, NT (Moesin-ezrin-radixin-like Protein, ACN, BANF, Neurofibromin 2, Neurofibromin-2, NF2, Schwannomerlin, Schwannomin, SCH) (HRP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Merlin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:50-1:100 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NF2 nf2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Merlin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
