Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for frequent use. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for 12 months.
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of a family of proteins that are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. The encoded protein is secreted as an inactive proprotein, which is activated upon cleavage by extracellular proteases. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013]

Uniprot Description

MMP19: Endopeptidase that degrades various components of the extracellular matrix, such as aggrecan and cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (comp), during development, haemostasis and pathological conditions (arthritic disease). May also play a role in neovascularization or angiogenesis. Hydrolyzes collagen type IV, laminin, nidogen, nascin-C isoform, fibronectin, and type I gelatin. May play a role in pathological processes participating in rheumatoid arthritis (RA)-associated joint tissue destruction. Autoantigen anti-MMP19 are frequent in RA patients. Belongs to the peptidase M10A family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Secreted; EC 3.4.24.-; Secreted, signal peptide; Protease

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q14

Cellular Component: proteinaceous extracellular matrix; extracellular region

Molecular Function: zinc ion binding; metalloendopeptidase activity; calcium ion binding

Biological Process: collagen catabolic process; extracellular matrix disassembly; extracellular matrix organization and biogenesis; response to cAMP; luteolysis; ovarian follicle development; response to hormone stimulus; angiogenesis; ovulation from ovarian follicle; cell differentiation; proteolysis

Product Notes

The MMP19 mmp19 (Catalog #AAA2112166) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Matrix Metalloproteinase 19 (MMP19) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Matrix Metalloproteinase 19 (MMP19) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). WB: 0.5-2ug/mL; 1:250-1000 IHC: 5-20ug/mL; 1:25-100 ICC: 5-20ug/mL; 1:25-100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MMP19 mmp19 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Matrix Metalloproteinase 19 (MMP19), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
