Related Product Information for anti-MAGED2 antibody
MAGE-D2, also known as Melanoma-associated antigen D2, belongs to the melanoma antigen encoding gene (MAGE) family with a MAGE domain. Rat and mouse orthologues have been isolated. Compared to other proteins (MAGE-A, MAGE- B and MAGE-C clusters) MAGE-D2 is expressed ubiquitously. This intracellular protein shows high expression in specific brain regions and in the interstitium of testes. Though the exact function of this protein is yet to be deduced, MAGE-D2 is considered as a hot spot for X-linked mental retardation. Research reveals that MAGE-D2 might have some role in breast and gastric cancer, as well as in hepatocellular carcinoma. MAGE-D2 is also known to interact physically with p53 and modify its activity, thus acting as a p53-dissociator.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the MAGED gene family. The MAGED genes are clustered on chromosome Xp11. This gene is located in Xp11.2, a hot spot for X-linked mental retardation (XLMR). This gene may also be involved in several types of cancer, including breast cancer and melanoma. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]

Uniprot Description

Tissue specificity: Widely expressed in normal tissues.

Sequence similarities: Contains 1 MAGE domain.

Product Notes

The MAGED2 maged2 (Catalog #AAA648146) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MAGED2 (Melanoma-associated Antigen D2, MAGE-D2 Antigen, Breast Cancer-associated Gene 1 Protein, BCG-1, 11B6, Hepatocellular Carcinoma-associated Protein JCL-1, BCG1) reacts with Canine, Equine, Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MAGED2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 5-7ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MAGED2 maged2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MAGED2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
