Rabbit MafB Polyclonal Antibody | anti-MafB antibody
MafB Antibody
Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
IHC: 1:200
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(MBS9609212 at 1/100 staining Mouse liver tissue by IHC-P. The sample was formaldehyde fixed and a heat mediated antigen retrieval step in citrate buffer was performed. The sample was then blocked and incubated with the antibody for 1.5 hours at 22 degree C. An HRP conjugated goat anti-rabbit antibody was used as the secondary.)
Subunit Structure: Homodimer or heterodimer with other bHLH-Zip transcription factors. Binds DNA as a homodimer or a heterodimer. Forms homodimers and heterodimers with FOS, FOSB and FOSL2, but not with JUN proteins (JUN, JUNB and JUND). Interacts with PAX6; the interaction is direct. Interacts with ETS1 and LRP1 (By similarity). Interacts with the intracellular cytoplasmic domain of LRP1 (LRPICD); the interaction results in a moderate reduction of MAFB transcriptional potential.
Post-translational Modifications: Phosphorylated by GSK3 and MAPK13 on serine and threonine residues. Sumoylated. Sumoylation on Lys-32 and Lys-297 stimulates its transcriptional repression activity and promotes macrophage differentiation from myeloid progenitors (By similarity).
Similarity: The leucine-zipper domain is involved in the interaction with LRPICD. Belongs to the bZIP family. Maf subfamily.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Predicted: 36 kDa
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a basic leucine zipper (bZIP) transcription factor that plays an important role in the regulation of lineage-specific hematopoiesis. The encoded nuclear protein represses ETS1-mediated transcription of erythroid-specific genes in myeloid cells. This gene contains no introns. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
Acts as a transcriptional activator or repressor (PubMed:27181683). Plays a pivotal role in regulating lineage-specific hematopoiesis by repressing ETS1-mediated transcription of erythroid-specific genes in myeloid cells. Required for monocytic, macrophage, osteoclast, podocyte and islet beta cell differentiation. Involved in renal tubule survival and F4/80 maturation. Activates the insulin and glucagon promoters. Together with PAX6, transactivates weakly the glucagon gene promoter through the G1 element. SUMO modification controls its transcriptional activity and ability to specify macrophage fate. Binds element G1 on the glucagon promoter (). Involved either as an oncogene or as a tumor suppressor, depending on the cell context.

Product Notes
The MafB mafb (Catalog #AAA9609212) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MafB Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MafB can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:1000-3000 IHC: 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MafB mafb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MafB, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
