Related Product Information for anti-NR1H2 antibody
LXR-B Antibody: LXR-B belongs to the Liver X Receptor family that encodes highly homologous transcription factors. Like the highly homologous LXR-A, LXR-B forms heterodimers with the retinoic acid receptor RXRalpha, which function as sensors for cellular oxysterols which when activated, increase the expression of genes that control sterol and fatty acid metabolism and homeostasis. Recent experiments have indicated that the LXRs can also modulate both innate and adaptive immune responses. Other studies suggest that genetic variability at the LXR-B gene locus may be a risk factor for Alzheimer's disease. One hypothesis postulates that LXR may be upstream of ApoE and potentiates the risk associated effects of the epsilon3 allele.

NCBI Description

The liver X receptors, LXRA (NR1H3; MIM 602423) and LXRB, form a subfamily of the nuclear receptor superfamily and are key regulators of macrophage function, controlling transcriptional programs involved in lipid homeostasis and inflammation. The inducible LXRA is highly expressed in liver, adrenal gland, intestine, adipose tissue, macrophages, lung, and kidney, whereas LXRB is ubiquitously expressed. Ligand-activated LXRs form obligate heterodimers with retinoid X receptors (RXRs; see MIM 180245) and regulate expression of target genes containing LXR response elements (summary by Korf et al., 2009 [PubMed 19436111]).[supplied by OMIM, Jan 2010]

Uniprot Description

LXR-beta: Orphan receptor. Binds preferentially to double-stranded oligonucleotide direct repeats having the consensus half-site sequence 5'-AGGTCA-3' and 4-nt spacing (DR-4). Regulates cholesterol uptake through MYLIP-dependent ubiquitination of LDLR, VLDLR and LRP8. Forms a heterodimer with RXR. Ubiquitous. Belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family. NR1 subfamily.

Product Notes

The NR1H2 nr1h2 (Catalog #AAA150709) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The LXR-B Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's LXR-B can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). LXR-B antibody can be used for detection of LXR-B by Western blot at 1 - 2 mug/mL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NR1H2 nr1h2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LXR-B, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
