NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The gene encodes a lipase that is highly expressed in granular keratinocytes in the epidermis, and plays a role in the differentiation of keratinocytes. Mutations in this gene are associated with lamellar ichthyosis type 4. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Uniprot Description
LIPN: Plays a highly specific role in the last step of keratinocyte differentiation. May have an essential function in lipid metabolism of the most differentiated epidermal layers. Defects in LIPN are the cause of ichthyosis lamellar type 4 (LI4). A non-bullous ichthyosis, a skin disorder characterized by abnormal cornification of the epidermis. At birth, the skin is normal, but widespread ichthyosis develops during childhood, with evidence of hyperkeratosis and acanthosis without epidermolytic changes on skin biopsies. Belongs to the AB hydrolase superfamily. Lipase family.

Product Notes
The LIPN lipn (Catalog #AAA6316461) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The LIPN, CT (LIPN, LIPL4, Lipase member N, Lipase-like abhydrolase domain-containing protein 4) (APC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's LIPN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LIPN lipn for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LIPN, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
