Post Translational Modifications: Ubiquitinated in a VCP/p97-dependent way following DNA damage, leading to its removal from DNA damage sites, promoting accessibility of H4K20me2 mark for DNA repair protein TP53BP1, which is then recruited to DNA damage sites.
Subcellular Location: Nucleus. Note: Excluded from the nucleolus. Does not colocalizes with the PcG protein BMI1, suggesting that these two proteins do not belong to the same complex.
Tissue Specificity: Widely expressed. Expression is reduced in colorectal cancer cell line SW480 and promyelocytic leukemia cell line HL-60.
Subunit Structure: Homodimer. Interacts with RB1/RB (when monomethylated at 'Lys-860'). Interacts with p53/TP53 (when monomethylated at 'Lys-382'). Interacts with CBX3, ETV6, KMT5A and VCP/p97.
Similarity: The MBT repeat 2 specifically recognizes and binds monomethylated and dimethylated proteins. In contrast, it does not bind trimethylated proteins. The MBT repeat 1 does not bind methylated peptides but inserts a proline ring in a Pro-Ser-Ser/Thr sequence context.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Predicted Molecular Weight: (Calculated)92kDa.
NCBI Description
This gene represents a polycomb group gene. The encoded protein functions to regulate gene activity, likely via chromatin modification. The encoded protein may also be necessary for mitosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]

Product Notes
The L3MBTL1 l3mbtl1 (Catalog #AAA9612399) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The L3MBTL1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat Predicted Reactivity: Horse(100%), Rabbit(100%), Dog(100%), Chicken(100%) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's L3MBTL1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 ELISA(peptide): 1:20,000-1:40,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the L3MBTL1 l3mbtl1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "L3MBTL1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
