NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
KIF18A is a member of the kinesin superfamily of microtubule-associated molecular motors (see MIM 148760) that use hydrolysis of ATP to produce force and movement along microtubules (Luboshits and Benayahu, 2005 [PubMed 15878648]).[supplied by OMIM, Aug 2008]
Uniprot Description
KIF18A: Microtubule-depolymerizing kinesin which plays a role in chromosome congression by reducing the amplitude of preanaphase oscillations and slowing poleward movement during anaphase, thus suppressing chromosome movements. May stabilize the CENPE-BUB1B complex at the kinetochores during early mitosis and maintains CENPE levels at kinetochores during chromosome congression. Belongs to the kinesin-like protein family.
Protein type: Motor; Microtubule-binding
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p14.1
Cellular Component: kinetochore microtubule; microtubule cytoskeleton; ruffle; kinesin complex; cytoplasm; microtubule organizing center; caveola; cytosol; nucleus
Molecular Function: microtubule plus-end binding; ubiquitin binding; protein binding; plus-end-directed microtubule motor activity; microtubule binding; actin binding; ATP binding
Biological Process: protein transport; metabolic process; microtubule depolymerization; antigen processing and presentation of exogenous peptide antigen via MHC class II; mitotic cell cycle; blood coagulation; mitotic metaphase plate congression; microtubule-based movement

Product Notes
The KIF18A kif18a (Catalog #AAA9203921) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 644-673. The KIF18A Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's KIF18A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KIF18A kif18a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KIF18A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
