Related Product Information for anti-STRADB antibody
ILPIP (ILP-interacting protein) has recently been shown to interact with XIAP, a member of the IAP (Inhibitor of Apoptosis) protein family (1). Together, these two proteins synergistically activate the TAK1/JNK1 signal transduction pathway, which acts to protect against the interleukin-1b converting enzyme of Fas-induced apotosis (1,2). This protein was independently isolated and characterized as polyploidy-associated protein kinase (PAPK), a member of the Ste20/germinal center kinase family that modulates cytoskeletal organization and cell survival (3), suggesting that its protective role may be a function of its kinase activity. Although two mRNA sequences have been isolated, only the shorter isoform has been observed.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinase STE20 subfamily. One of the active site residues in the protein kinase domain of this protein is altered, and it is thus a pseudokinase. This protein is a component of a complex involved in the activation of serine/threonine kinase 11, a master kinase that regulates cell polarity and energy-generating metabolism. This complex regulates the relocation of this kinase from the nucleus to the cytoplasm, and it is essential for G1 cell cycle arrest mediated by this kinase. The protein encoded by this gene can also interact with the X chromosome-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein, and this interaction enhances the anti-apoptotic activity of this protein via the JNK1 signal transduction pathway. Two pseudogenes, located on chromosomes 1 and 7, have been found for this gene. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Uniprot Description

STLK6: Pseudokinase which, in complex with CAB39/MO25 (CAB39/MO25alpha or CAB39L/MO25beta), binds to and activates STK11/LKB1. Adopts a closed conformation typical of active protein kinases and binds STK11/LKB1 as a pseudosubstrate, promoting conformational change of STK11/LKB1 in an active conformation. Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. STE Ser/Thr protein kinase family. STE20 subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Kinase, protein; Protein kinase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); Protein kinase, STE; STE group; STE20 family; STLK subfamily

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q33.1

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; ATP binding; receptor signaling protein serine/threonine kinase activity; protein kinase activity

Biological Process: insulin receptor signaling pathway; cell morphogenesis; activation of protein kinase activity; JNK cascade; mitotic cell cycle; protein export from nucleus; cell cycle arrest; protein amino acid phosphorylation

Product Notes

The STRADB stradb (Catalog #AAA610343) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ILP-interacting protein (ILPIP, ALSCR2, PAPK) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ILP-interacting protein can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Can be used for the detection of ILPIP by Western Blot at 1 to 2ug/ml. Human brain cell lysate can be used as positive control and a 34kD band can be detected. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the STRADB stradb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ILP-interacting protein, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
