Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of HuB staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

Immunofluorescence (IF)

(Immunofluorescent analysis of HuB staining in K562 cells. Formalin-fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 5-10 minutes and blocked with 3% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with the primary antibody in 3% BSA-PBS and incubated overnight at 4 C in a humidified chamber. Cells were washed with PBST and incubated with a DyLight 594-conjugated secondary antibody (red) in PBS at room temperature in the dark.)

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a neural-specific RNA-binding protein that is known to bind to several 3' UTRs, including its own and also that of FOS and ID. The encoded protein may recognize a GAAA motif in the RNA. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2010]

Uniprot Description

Binds RNA. Seems to recognize a GAAA motif. Can bind to its own 3'-UTR, the FOS 3'-UTR and the ID 3'-UTR.

Product Notes

The HUB elavl2 (Catalog #AAA9430863) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HuB Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HuB can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). WB: 1:500-1:1000 IHC: 1:50-1:100 IF: 1:100-1:300. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HUB elavl2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HuB, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
