Related Product Information for anti-HOP2 antibody
Description: Plays an important role in meiotic recombination. Stimulates DMC1-mediated strand exchange required for pairing homologous chromosomes during meiosis. The complex PSMC3IP/MND1 binds DNA, stimulates the recombinase activity of DMC1 as well as DMC1 D-loop formation from double-strand DNA. This complex stabilizes presynaptic RAD51 and DMC1 filaments formed on single strand DNA to capture double-strand DNA. This complex stimulates both synaptic and presynaptic critical steps in RAD51 and DMC1-promoted homologous pairing. May inhibit HIV-1 viral protein TAT activity and modulate the activity of proteasomes through association with PSMC3. Acts as a tissue specific coactivator of hormone-dependent transcription mediated by nuclear receptors.

Post Translational Modifications: PTM: Phosphorylated by PKA, PKC and MAPK.

Subunit Structure: Interacts with the DNA-binding domain of the nuclear receptors NR3C1/GR, ESR2/ER-beta, THRB and RXRA (By similarity). Forms a stable heterodimer with MND1. Interacts with PSMC3/TBP1.

Similarity: Belongs to the HOP2 family.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that functions in meiotic recombination. It is a subunit of the PSMC3IP/MND1 complex, which interacts with PSMC3/TBP1 to stimulate DMC1- and RAD51-mediated strand exchange during meiosis. The protein encoded by this gene can also co-activate ligand-driven transcription mediated by estrogen, androgen, glucocorticoid, progesterone, and thyroid nuclear receptors. Mutations in this gene cause XX female gonadal dysgenesis. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]

Uniprot Description

PSMC3IP: Plays an important role in meiotic recombination. This complex stimulates both synaptic and presynaptic critical steps in RAD51 and DMC1- promoted homologous pairing. May inhibit HIV-1 viral protein TAT activity and modulate the activity of proteasomes through association with PSMC3. Acts as a tissue specific coactivator of hormone-dependent transcription mediated by nuclear receptors. Defects in PSMC3IP are the cause of ovarian dysgenesis type 3 (ODG3). A disorder characterized by lack of spontaneous pubertal development, primary amenorrhea, uterine hypoplasia, and hypergonadotropic hypogonadism as a result of streak gonads. Belongs to the HOP2 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The HOP2 psmc3ip (Catalog #AAA9611817) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HOP2 Antibody reacts with Human Predicted: Pig, Zebrafish, Bovine, Horse, Sheep, Rabbit, Dog, Chicken, Xenopus and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HOP2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HOP2 psmc3ip for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HOP2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
