NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene belongs to the subfamily of ubiquitously expressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). The hnRNPs are RNA binding proteins and they complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA). These proteins are associated with pre-mRNAs in the nucleus and appear to influence pre-mRNA processing and other aspects of mRNA metabolism and transport. While all of the hnRNPs are present in the nucleus, some seem to shuttle between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. The hnRNP proteins have distinct nucleic acid binding properties. The protein encoded by this gene can act as a tetramer and is involved in the assembly of 40S hnRNP particles. Multiple transcript variants encoding at least two different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
hnRNP C1/C2: a heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein. May play a role in ribonucleosome assembly by neutralizing basic proteins such as A and B core hnRNP. Contains 1 RNA recognition motif (RRM) domain. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

The hnRNP C1/C2 antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's hnRNP C1/C2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Western blotting: 1:500-1:3000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:100-1:250 Immunofluorescence: 1:100-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the hnRNP C1/C2 hnrnpc for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "hnRNP C1/C2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
