Related Product Information for anti-HMMR antibody
The receptor for hyaluronan mediated motility has been reported to mediate migration, transformation, and metastatic spread of murine fibroblasts. In human, it is expressed as an intracellular protein in breast cancer cells. No correlation between the level of HMMR mRNA and protein expression with known metastatic/malignant potential of the tumor cell lines was observed.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is involved in cell motility. It is expressed in breast tissue and together with other proteins, it forms a complex with BRCA1 and BRCA2, thus is potentially associated with higher risk of breast cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]

Uniprot Description

HMMR: Involved in cell motility. When hyaluronan binds to HMMR, the phosphorylation of a number of proteins, including PTK2/FAK1 occurs. May also be involved in cellular transformation and metastasis formation, and in regulating extracellular- regulated kinase (ERK) activity. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Receptor, misc.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q34

Cellular Component: cell surface; membrane; cytoplasm; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: hyaluronic acid binding

Biological Process: glycosaminoglycan metabolic process; carbohydrate metabolic process; pathogenesis; hyaluronan metabolic process; hyaluronan catabolic process

Disease: Breast Cancer

Product Notes

The HMMR hmmr (Catalog #AAA243539) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human HMMR / CD168 / RHAMM reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HMMR / CD168 / RHAMM can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB). IHC-P (5 ug/ml), WB (0.5 - 1 ug/ml). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HMMR hmmr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HMMR / CD168 / RHAMM, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
