(HIST1H2BJ Antibody (Center) flow cytometric analysis of CEM cells (right histogram) compared to a negative control cell (left histogram).FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.)
Western Blot (WB)
(HIST1H2BJ Antibody (Center) western blot analysis in CEM,HL-60,NCI-H460 cell line lysates (35ug/lane).This demonstrates the HIST1H2BJ antibody detected the HIST1H2BJ protein (arrow).)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. Two molecules of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer, around which approximately 146 bp of DNA is wrapped in repeating units, called nucleosomes. The linker histone, H1, interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and functions in the compaction of chromatin into higher order structures. This gene is intronless and encodes a member of the histone H2B family. Transcripts from this gene lack polyA tails but instead contain a palindromic termination element. This gene is found in the histone microcluster on chromosome 6p21.33. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
HIST1H2BJ: Core component of nucleosome. Nucleosomes wrap and compact DNA into chromatin, limiting DNA accessibility to the cellular machineries which require DNA as a template. Histones thereby play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication and chromosomal stability. DNA accessibility is regulated via a complex set of post-translational modifications of histones, also called histone code, and nucleosome remodeling. Belongs to the histone H2B family.
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p22.1
Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; extracellular space; nucleosome; nucleus
Molecular Function: DNA binding; protein heterodimerization activity
Biological Process: nucleosome assembly; defense response to Gram-positive bacterium; establishment and/or maintenance of chromatin architecture; innate immune response in mucosa; antibacterial humoral response

AAA Biotech's HIST1H2BJ can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), FLISA, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). FC/FACS: 1:10-50 FLISA: 1:1,000 IHC: 1:50-100 WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HIST1H2BJ hist1h2bj for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HIST1H2BJ, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
