Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for frequent use. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for 12 months.
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the High Mobility Group-box superfamily. The encoded non-histone, nuclear DNA-binding protein regulates transcription, and is involved in organization of DNA. This protein plays a role in several cellular processes, including inflammation, cell differentiation and tumor cell migration. Multiple pseudogenes of this gene have been identified. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Uniprot Description

HMGB1: DNA binding proteins that associates with chromatin and has the ability to bend DNA. Binds preferentially single-stranded DNA. Involved in V(D)J recombination by acting as a cofactor of the RAG complex. Acts by stimulating cleavage and RAG protein binding at the 23 bp spacer of conserved recombination signal sequences (RSS). Heparin-binding protein that has a role in the extension of neurite-type cytoplasmic processes in developing cells. Component of the RAG complex composed of core components RAG1 and RAG2, and associated component HMGB1 or HMGB2. Belongs to the HMGB family.

Protein type: DNA repair, damage; Nuclear receptor co-regulator

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 13q12

Product Notes

The HMG1 hmgb1 (Catalog #AAA2106857) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Botin-Linked Polyclonal Antibody to High Mobility Group Protein 1 (HMG1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's High Mobility Group Protein 1 (HMG1) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HMG1 hmgb1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: HMG1 (Pro9~Arg1 63). It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "High Mobility Group Protein 1 (HMG1), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
