NCBI Description

This gene encodes the beta subunit of the soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC), which catalyzes the conversion of GTP (guanosine triphosphate) to cGMP (cyclic guanosine monophosphate). The encoded protein contains an HNOX domain, which serves as a receptor for ligands such as nitric oxide, oxygen and nitrovasodilator drugs. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2014]

Uniprot Description

GUCY1B3: Belongs to the adenylyl cyclase class-4/guanylyl cyclase family. Heterodimer of an alpha and a beta chain. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing

Protein type: EC 4.6.1.2; Receptor, misc.; Guanylyl cyclase; Lyase; Nucleotide Metabolism - purine

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q31.3-q33

Cellular Component: guanylate cyclase complex, soluble; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; cytoplasm

Molecular Function: guanylate cyclase activity; GTP binding; protein heterodimerization activity; metal ion binding; heme binding; receptor activity; Hsp90 protein binding

Biological Process: cGMP biosynthetic process; blood circulation; blood coagulation; nitric oxide mediated signal transduction

Product Notes

The GUCY1B3 gucy1b3 (Catalog #AAA242403) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human GUCY1B3 reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GUCY1B3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin). IHC-P (10 ug/ml) Usage: Immunohistochemistry: was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary anti.. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GUCY1B3 gucy1b3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GUCY1B3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
