Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of GTPBP2 staining in human colon cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

NCBI Description

GTP-binding proteins, or G proteins, constitute a superfamily capable of binding GTP or GDP. G proteins are activated by binding GTP and are inactivated by hydrolyzing GTP to GDP. This general mechanism enables G proteins to perform a wide range of biologic activities.[supplied by OMIM, Jan 2003]

Uniprot Description

GTPBP2: Belongs to the GTPBP1 GTP-binding protein family. Up-regulated by IFNG/IFN-gamma in human monocytic cell line THP-1. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p21

Cellular Component: intracellular; intracellular membrane-bound organelle

Molecular Function: GTPase activity; protein binding; translation elongation factor activity

Biological Process: translational elongation

Product Notes

The GTPBP2 gtpbp2 (Catalog #AAA8248074) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-GTPBP2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GTPBP2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1/500 - 1/2000; Immunohistochemistry: 1/50 - 1/200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GTPBP2 gtpbp2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GTPBP2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
