NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene product belongs to the family of glutathione peroxidase, which functions in the detoxification of hydrogen peroxide. It contains a selenocysteine (Sec) residue at its active site. The selenocysteine is encoded by the UGA codon, which normally signals translation termination. The 3' UTR of Sec-containing genes have a common stem-loop structure, the sec insertion sequence (SECIS), which is necessary for the recognition of UGA as a Sec codon rather than as a stop signal. Product Notes
The Gpx1 gpx1 (Catalog #AAA422991) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti-Gpx1 (mouse aa53-67) Antibody reacts with Tested: Mouse, Rat; Expected from sequence similarity: Mouse, Rat, Cow and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Gpx1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 128000. Western Blot: Approx 22kDa band observed in Rat Kidney and Liver lysates and in Mouse Kidney lysates (calculated MW of 22.3kDa according to NP_032186.2). Recommended concentration: 0.1-0.3ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Gpx1 gpx1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: DYTEMNDLQK RLGPR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Gpx1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
