Related Product Information for anti-GEN1 antibody
Endonuclease which cleaves flap structures at the junction between single-stranded DNA and double-stranded DNA. Specific for 5'-overhanging flap structures in which the 5'-upstream of the flap is completely double-stranded. Prefers the blocked-flap structures similar to those occurring at replication forks, in which the 5' single-strand overhang of the flap is double-stranded (By similarity).

Uniprot Description

GEN1: Endonuclease which resolves Holliday junctions by the introduction of symmetrically related cuts across the junction point, to produce nicked duplex products in which the nicks can be readily ligated. Four-way DNA intermediates, also known as Holliday junctions, are formed during homologous recombination and DNA repair, and their resolution is necessary for proper chromosome segregation. Belongs to the XPG/RAD2 endonuclease family. GEN subfamily.

Protein type: EC 3.1.-.-; Hydrolase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p24.2

Cellular Component: centrosome; nucleus

Molecular Function: DNA binding; metal ion binding; crossover junction endodeoxyribonuclease activity

Biological Process: DNA catabolic process, endonucleolytic; double-strand break repair via homologous recombination

Product Notes

The GEN1 gen1 (Catalog #AAA9203780) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 60-89. The GEN1 Antibody (N-term) reacts with Human, mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GEN1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GEN1 gen1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GEN1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
