Formalin-fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 5-10 minutes and blocked with 3% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with the primary antibody in 3% BSA-PBS and incubated overnight at 4 °C in a humidified chamber. Cells were washed with PBST and incubated with a DyLight 594-conjugated secondary antibody (red) in PBS at room temperature in the dark.)

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an enzyme responsible for the hydrolytic deamination of guanine. Studies in rat ortholog suggest this gene plays a role in microtubule assembly. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2011]

Uniprot Description

GDA: Catalyzes the hydrolytic deamination of guanine, producing xanthine and ammonia. Belongs to the ATZ/TRZ family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Hydrolase; Nucleotide Metabolism - purine; EC 3.5.4.3

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q21.13

Cellular Component: cytosol; intracellular

Molecular Function: guanine deaminase activity; zinc ion binding

Biological Process: guanine catabolic process; guanine metabolic process; nervous system development; nucleobase, nucleoside, nucleotide and nucleic acid metabolic process; purine nucleotide catabolic process

Product Notes

The GDA gda (Catalog #AAA8245882) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-GDA Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GDA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). WB: 1/500 - 1/2000; IF/ICC: 1/10 - 1/100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GDA gda for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GDA, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
