This is a rabbit polyclonal antibody against GNT2C. It was validated on Western Blot

Target Description: This gene encodes the enzyme responsible for formation of the blood group I antigen. The i and I antigens are distinguished by linear and branched poly-N-acetyllactosaminoglycans, respectively. The encoded protein is the I-branching enzyme, a beta-1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase responsible for the conversion of fetal i antigen to adult I antigen in erythrocytes during embryonic development. Mutations in this gene have been associated with adult i blood group phenotype. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the enzyme responsible for formation of the blood group I antigen. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Branching enzyme that converts linear into branched poly-N-acetyllactosaminoglycans. Introduces the blood group I antigen during embryonic development. It is closely associated with the development and maturation of erythroid cells.

Product Notes

The GCNT2 gcnt2 (Catalog #AAA3220273) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GCNT2 Antibody - N-terminal region reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GCNT2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GCNT2 gcnt2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: MNFWRYCFFA FTLLSVVIFV RFYSSQLSPP KSYEKLNSSS ERYFRKTACN. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GCNT2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
