Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP) (GATA-1 (pAb) tested by ChIP. ChIP was performed using the ChIP-IT High Sensitivity Kit with 15 ug of K562 cells and 10 ug of GATA-1 antibody. ChIP DNA was used in qPCR with the gene-specific primer for PROX (a gene involved in heme biosynthesis that is regulated by GATA-1) or negative control primer as indicated. Data are presented as Binding Events Detected per 1000 Cells using Epigenetic Services normalization scheme which accounts for primer efficiency and the amount of chromatin used in the ChIP reaction.)

Short Description: Our GATA-1 antibody (pAb) was raised in a Rabbit host. It has been validated for use in Chromatin Immunoprecipitation and ChIP-Seq; it has been shown to react with Human samples.

Background: GATA-1 (Globin transcription factor) is a Transcriptional activator which probably serves as a general switch factor for erythroid development. It binds to DNA sites with the consensus sequence [AT]GATA[AG] within regulatory regions of globin genes and of other genes expressed in erythroid cells.

Uniprot Description

GATA1: Transcriptional activator which probably serves as a general switch factor for erythroid development. It binds to DNA sites with the consensus sequence [AT]GATA[AG] within regulatory regions of globin genes and of other genes expressed in erythroid cells. May form homodimers or heterodimers with other isoforms. Interacts (via the N-terminal zinc finger) with ZFPM1. Interacts with GFI1B. Interacts with PIAS4; the interaction enhances sumoylation and represses the transactivational activity in a sumoylation-independent manner. Interacts with LMCD1. Interacts with CREBBP; the interaction stimulates acetylation and transcriptional activity in vivo. Interacts with EP300. Erythrocytes. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The GATA-1 gata1 (Catalog #AAA388940) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GATA-1 antibody (pAb) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GATA-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP), Chromatin Immunoprecipitation-Seq (ChIP-Seq). Applications Validated: ChIP-Seq: 4ug per ChIP ChIP: 10ug per ChIP. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GATA-1 gata1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GATA-1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
