NCBI Description

This gene catalyzes the hydrolysis of folylpoly-gamma-glutamates and antifolylpoly-gamma-glutamates by the removal of gamma-linked polyglutamates and glutamate. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

GGH: Hydrolyzes the polyglutamate sidechains of pteroylpolyglutamates. Progressively removes gamma-glutamyl residues from pteroylpoly-gamma-glutamate to yield pteroyl-alpha- glutamate (folic acid) and free glutamate. May play an important role in the bioavailability of dietary pteroylpolyglutamates and in the metabolism of pteroylpolyglutamates and antifolates. Belongs to the peptidase C26 family.

Protein type: Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - folate biosynthesis; EC 3.4.19.9; Protease; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q12.3

Cellular Component: cytosol; extracellular exosome; extracellular region; extracellular space; melanosome; nucleus; tertiary granule lumen; vacuole

Molecular Function: exopeptidase activity; gamma-glutamyl-peptidase activity; omega peptidase activity

Product Notes

The gGH ggh (Catalog #AAA2028033) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Gamma-Glutamyl Hydrolase (gGH) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Gamma-Glutamyl Hydrolase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin/Paraffin, ELISA (EIA). Western blotting: 0.2-2ug/mL;1:250-2500 Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/mL;1:25-100 Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/mL;1:25-100 Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user. . Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the gGH ggh for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Gamma-Glutamyl Hydrolase, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
