Preparation and Storage
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 4ºC for frequent use.
Aliquot and store at -20ºC for 12 months.

Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

The galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins implicated in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. The protein encoded by this gene is an S-type lectin. It is overexpressed in Hodgkin's disease tissue and might participate in the interaction between the H&RS cells with their surrounding cells and might thus play a role in the pathogenesis of this disease and/or its associated immunodeficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

galectin-9: Binds galactosides. Has high affinity for the Forssman pentasaccharide. May play a role in thymocyte-epithelial interactions relevant to the biology of the thymus. Inhibits cell proliferation. It is a ligand for HAVCR2/TIM3. Induces T-helper type 1 lymphocyte (Th1) death. Isoform Short acts as an eosinophil chemoattractant. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The GAL9 lgals9 (Catalog #AAA2027237) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Galectin 9 (GAL9) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Galectin 9 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB),Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Western blotting: 0.5-2 ug/mL;1:500-2000 Immunohistochemistry: 5-20 ug/mL;1:50-200 Immunocytochemistry: 5-20 ug/mL;1:50-200 Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GAL9 lgals9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Galectin 9, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
