NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Guanine nucleotide binding proteins are heterotrimeric signal-transducing molecules consisting of alpha, beta, and gamma subunits. The alpha subunit binds guanine nucleotide, can hydrolyze GTP, and can interact with other proteins. The protein encoded by this gene represents the alpha subunit of an inhibitory complex. The encoded protein is part of a complex that responds to beta-adrenergic signals by inhibiting adenylate cyclase. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Uniprot Description
G-alpha i1: Guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) are involved as modulators or transducers in various transmembrane signaling systems. The G(i) proteins are involved in hormonal regulation of adenylate cyclase: they inhibit the cyclase in response to beta-adrenergic stimuli. The inactive GDP-bound form prevents the association of RGS14 with centrosomes and is required for the translocation of RGS14 from the cytoplasm to the plasma membrane. May play a role in cell division. Interacts with GPSM1. Interacts with RGS12. Interacts (via active GTP- or inactive GDP-bound forms) with RGS14 (via RGS and GoLoco domains); the interaction occurs in the centrosomes. Interacts (GDP-bound form) with RIC8A (via C-terminus). Interacts with DRD2. G proteins are composed of 3 units; alpha, beta and gamma. The alpha chain contains the guanine nucleotide binding site. Belongs to the G-alpha family. G(i/o/t/z) subfamily.

Product Notes
The GNAI1 gnai1 (Catalog #AAA6478770) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The G-Protein Gi alpha1/alpha2 (guanine nucleotide binding protein (G protein), alpha inhibiting activity polypeptide 1 / guanine nucleotide binding protein (G protein), alpha inhibiting activity polypeptide 2) (AP) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Bovine and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's G-Protein Gi alpha1/alpha2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Western Blot (WB). IHC: Rat cerebellum IHC-P: Paraffin sections require HIER with citrate buffer, pH 6.0 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GNAI1 gnai1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "G-Protein Gi alpha1/alpha2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
