NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes an enzyme belonging to the family of fucosyltransferases. The product of this gene catalyzes the transfer of fucose from GDP-fucose to N-linked type complex glycopeptides. This enzyme is distinct from other fucosyltransferases which catalyze alpha1-2, alpha1-3, and alpha1-4 fucose addition. The expression of this gene may contribute to the malignancy of cancer cells and to their invasive and metastatic capabilities. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Uniprot Description
FUT8: Catalyzes the addition of fucose in alpha 1-6 linkage to the first GlcNAc residue, next to the peptide chains in N-glycans. Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 23 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The FUT8 fut8 (Catalog #AAA6417786) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FUT8 (Fucosyltransferase 8, MGC26465) (Biotin) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FUT8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:50-1:100 WB: 1:500-1:1000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FUT8 fut8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FUT8, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
