Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Related Product Information for anti-FURIN antibody
Goat anti Human furin antibody recognizes an epitope within the C-Terminal (CT) region of furin, otherwise known as PACE (Paired basic Amino acid Cleaving Enzyme). Furin is a calcium-dependent serine endoprotease and proprotein convertase, which plays a crucial role in the processing of latent precursor proteins into their biologically active forms, such as during the Notch signaling pathway.
The Notch signaling pathway is an evolutionarily conserved pathway in multicellular organisms, vital for cell-cell communication, important during fundamental developmental and physiological processes, including regulation of cell fate decisions during neuronal, cardiac and endocrine development, stem cell hematopoiesis, thymic T cell development, and both tumor progression and suppression.
Furin is a critical enzyme during the S1 cleavage of pre-Notch proteins within the golgi apparatus, to convert the nascent form into the mature heterodimeric Notch receptor and the non-covalently associated intracellular domain. These are then transported to the cell surface, in preparation for ligand-receptor binding and further S2 and S3 cleavage, resulting in the release and translocation of the intracellular domain to the nucleus.

Product Notes

The FURIN (Catalog #AAA225873) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GOAT ANTI HUMAN FURIN (C-TERMINAL) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FURIN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). ELISA: 1/128000 WB: 0.01-0.03ug/ml Flow Cytometry: Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls. Western Blotting: This product detects a band of approximately 110kDa in HEK293 lysate transiently expressing Human Furin tagged with myc and DYKDDDDK. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FURIN for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FURIN, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
