Target Description: FKBP2 is a member of the immunophilin protein family, which play a role in immunoregulation and basic cellular processes involving protein folding and trafficking. This protein is a cis-trans prolyl isomerase that binds the immunosuppressants FK506 and rapamycin. It is thought to function as an ER chaperone and may also act as a component of membrane cytoskeletal scaffolds. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the immunophilin protein family, which play a role in immunoregulation and basic cellular processes involving protein folding and trafficking. This gene has two alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode the same isoform. Multiple polyadenylation sites have been described for this gene, but the full length nature of this gene has not been determined.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the immunophilin protein family, which play a role in immunoregulation and basic cellular processes involving protein folding and trafficking. This encoded protein is a cis-trans prolyl isomerase that binds the immunosuppressants FK506 and rapamycin. It is thought to function as an ER chaperone and may also act as a component of membrane cytoskeletal scaffolds. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]

Product Notes

The FKBP2 fkbp2 (Catalog #AAA3213904) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FKBP2 antibody - N-terminal region reacts with Cow, Dog, Goat, Guinea Pig, Horse, Human, Mouse, Rat, Zebrafish and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FKBP2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FKBP2 fkbp2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: RLSWFRVLTV LSICLSAVAT ATGAEGKRKL QIGVKKRVDH CPIKSRKGDV. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FKBP2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
