Related Product Information for anti-FDFT1 antibody
Several proteins mediate the biosynthesis of cholesterol. The first specific step in the cholesterol biosynthetic pathway is the conversion of transfarnesyl-diphosphate to Squalene, which is catalyzed by the endoplasmic reticulum membrane-associated enzyme Squalene synthetase, also designated Squalene synthase and Farnesyl-diphosphate farnesyltransferase. Squalene synthetase is located at a branch point in the mevalonate pathway and is also involved in isoprenoid biosynthesis. Squalene epoxidase, also designated Squalene monooxygenase, is a multi-pass microsomal membrane-associated enzyme that catalyzes the first oxygenation step in sterol biosynthesis and most likely functions as one of the rate-limiting enzymes in this pathway. Squalene epoxidase may form a complex with Squalene synthetase.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a membrane-associated enzyme located at a branch point in the mevalonate pathway. The encoded protein is the first specific enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, catalyzing the dimerization of two molecules of farnesyl diphosphate in a two-step reaction to form squalene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The FDFT1 fdft1 (Catalog #AAA3011409) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FDFT1 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FDFT1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FDFT1 fdft1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FDFT1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
