NCBI Description

The Fanconi anemia complementation group (FANC) currently includes FANCA, FANCB, FANCC, FANCD1 (also called BRCA2), FANCD2, FANCE, FANCF, FANCG, FANCI, FANCJ (also called BRIP1), FANCL, FANCM and FANCN (also called PALB2). The previously defined group FANCH is the same as FANCA. Fanconi anemia is a genetically heterogeneous recessive disorder characterized by cytogenetic instability, hypersensitivity to DNA crosslinking agents, increased chromosomal breakage, and defective DNA repair. The members of the Fanconi anemia complementation group do not share sequence similarity; they are related by their assembly into a common nuclear protein complex. This gene encodes the protein for complementation group C. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

FANCC: DNA repair protein that may operate in a postreplication repair or a cell cycle checkpoint function. May be implicated in interstrand DNA cross-link repair and in the maintenance of normal chromosome stability. Upon IFNG induction, may facilitate STAT1 activation by recruiting STAT1 to IFNGR1. Defects in FANCC are the cause of Fanconi anemia complementation group C (FANCC). A disorder affecting all bone marrow elements and resulting in anemia, leukopenia and thrombopenia. It is associated with cardiac, renal and limb malformations, dermal pigmentary changes, and a predisposition to the development of malignancies. At the cellular level it is associated with hypersensitivity to DNA-damaging agents, chromosomal instability (increased chromosome breakage) and defective DNA repair.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q22.3

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; nucleus; cytosol

Product Notes

The FANCC fancc (Catalog #AAA6416886) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FANCC (Fanconi anemia C, FA3, FAC, FACC, FLJ14675) (HRP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FANCC can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IF: 1:50-1:200 WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FANCC fancc for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FANCC, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
