Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Related Product Information for anti-FANCB antibody
The Fanconi anemia complementation group (FANC) currently includes FANCA, FANCB, FANCC, FANCD1 (also called BRCA2), FANCD2, FANCE, FANCF, FANCG, FANCI, FANCJ (also called BRIP1), FANCL, FANCM and FANCN (also called PALB2). The previously defined group FANCH is the same as FANCA. Fanconi anemia is a genetically heterogeneous recessive disorder characterized by cytogenetic instability, hypersensitivity to DNA crosslinking agents, increased chromosomal breakage, and defective DNA repair. The members of the Fanconi anemia complementation group do not share sequence similarity; they are related by their assembly into a common nuclear protein complex. This gene encodes the protein for complementation group B. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding the same protein.

Uniprot Description

Function: DNA repair protein required for FANCD2 ubiquitination. Ref.4

Subunit structure: Belongs to the multisubunit FA complex composed of FANCA, FANCB, FANCC, FANCE, FANCF, FANCG, FANCL/PHF9 and FANCM. The complex is not found in FA patients. Ref.4 Ref.5

Subcellular location: Nucleus Ref.4.

Involvement in disease: Fanconi anemia complementation group B (FANCB) [MIM:300514]: A disorder affecting all bone marrow elements and resulting in anemia, leukopenia and thrombopenia. It is associated with cardiac, renal and limb malformations, dermal pigmentary changes, and a predisposition to the development of malignancies. At the cellular level it is associated with hypersensitivity to DNA-damaging agents, chromosomal instability (increased chromosome breakage) and defective DNA repair. Some severe FANCB cases manifest features of VACTERL syndrome with hydrocephalus.Note: The disease is caused by mutations affecting the gene represented in this entry. Ref.4 Ref.6

Sequence caution: The sequence AAH43596.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Contaminating sequence. Potential poly-A sequence. The sequence AAH55411.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Contaminating sequence. Potential poly-A sequence.

Product Notes

The FANCB fancb (Catalog #AAA6297981) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FANCB, ID (FANCB, Fanconi anemia group B protein, Fanconi anemia-associated polypeptide of 95kD) (Azide free) (HRP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FANCB can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:100-500 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FANCB fancb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FANCB, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
