NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene protects against death receptor-triggered apoptosis and regulates B-cell signaling and differentiation. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]

Uniprot Description

FAIM: Plays a role as an inducible effector molecule that mediates Fas resistance produced by surface Ig engagement in B cells. Belongs to the FAIM1 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Apoptosis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q22.3

Cellular Component: cytoplasm

Biological Process: apoptosis; negative regulation of apoptosis

Product Notes

The FAIM faim (Catalog #AAA6297701) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FAIM, ID (FAIM, FAIM1, Fas apoptotic inhibitory molecule 1) (PE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FAIM can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FAIM faim for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FAIM, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
