Related Product Information for anti-ERR-a antibody
Short Description: Our ERR-a antibody (pAb) was raised in a Rabbit host. It has been validated for use in Western blot; it has been shown to react with Human samples.

Background: ERR-a (Estrogen-related receptor alpha, NR3B1) is an orphan nuclear receptor similar to the Estrogen Receptor. It is a sequence-specific DNA binding transcriptional activator that is constitutively active in the absence of ligand binding. No true physiological ligands have been found, but estrogen-like compounds from plants have been shown to activate ERR-a. ERR-a and ER-a have been found to regulate an overlapping set of genes, and ERR-a appears to modulate the activity of ER-a in some tissue types. ERR-a regulates genes involved in mitochondrial biogenesis, gluconeogenesis, oxidative phosphorylation, and fatty acid metabolism. ERR-a knockout mice display impaired fat metabolism and absorption.

Uniprot Description

ERR1: Binds to an ERR-alpha response element (ERRE) containing a single consensus half-site, 5'-TNAAGGTCA-3'. Can bind to the medium-chain acyl coenzyme A dehydrogenase (MCAD) response element NRRE-1 and may act as an important regulator of MCAD promoter. Binds to the C1 region of the lactoferrin gene promoter. Requires dimerization and the coactivator, PGC-1A, for full activity. The ERRalpha/PGC1alpha complex is a regulator of energy metabolism. Belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family. NR3 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The ERR-an esrra (Catalog #AAA388734) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ERR-an antibody (pAb) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ERR-a can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Applications Validated: WB: 1:500-1:1,000 dilution. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ERR-an esrra for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ERR-a, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
