NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene interacts with the dedicator of cyto-kinesis 1 protein. Similarity to a C. elegans protein suggests that this protein may function in phagocytosis of apoptotic cells and in cell migration. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
ELMO2: Involved in cytoskeletal rearrangements required for phagocytosis of apoptotic cells and cell motility. Acts in assocation with DOCK1 and CRK. Was initially proposed to be required in complex with DOCK1 to activate Rac Rho small GTPases. May enhance the guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) activity of DOCK1.
Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytoskeletal
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20q13
Cellular Component: cytoskeleton; membrane; cytoplasm; cytosol
Molecular Function: protein binding; receptor tyrosine kinase binding; SH3 domain binding
Biological Process: apoptosis; innate immune response; vascular endothelial growth factor receptor signaling pathway

Product Notes
The ELMO2 elmo2 (Catalog #AAA247524) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat Polyclonal to Human ELMO2 reacts with Bat, Gibbon, Bovine, Chicken, Dog, Xenopus, Gorilla, Hamster, Horse, Human, Monkey, Mouse, Orangutan, Rabbit, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ELMO2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB). IHC-P (3.75 ug/ml), WB (1 - 3 ug/ml). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ELMO2 elmo2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ELMO2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
