Related Product Information for anti-ELF1 antibody
Goat anti ELF1 antibody recognizes ETS-related transcription factor Elf-1, also known as E74-like factor 1 (ELF1).

ELF1 is a small zinc-finger protein conserved in eukaryotes and some archaea (Ehara and Sekine 2018). ELF1 is ubiquitously expressed in human cells and is a member of the ETS family of transcription factors (Budka et al. 2018) and appears to act downstream of the DNA damage response pathway (Cheng et al. 2020). In cancer, ELF1 appears to have oncogenic and tumor suppressive functions depending on context (Budka et al. 2018). ELF1 appears to play an antiviral role, with lower levels of ELF1 reducing host defense against the influenza A virus (Seifert et al. 2019).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an E26 transformation-specific related transcription factor. The encoded protein is primarily expressed in lymphoid cells and acts as both an enhancer and a repressor to regulate transcription of various genes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]

Uniprot Description

Elf-1: Transcription factor that activates the LYN and BLK promoters. Appears to be required for the T-cell-receptor-mediated trans activation of HIV-2 gene expression. Binds specifically to two purine-rich motifs in the HIV-2 enhancer. Belongs to the ETS family.

Protein type: Transcription factor; DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 13q13

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; negative regulation of T cell receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; cell differentiation; regulation of cytokine production

Product Notes

The ELF1 elf1 (Catalog #AAA226146) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti ELF1 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ELF1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology-Paraffin (P), Western Blot (WB). P: 2.5ug/ml WB: 0.03ug/ml to 0.1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ELF1 elf1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ELF1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
