Rabbit anti-Human EIF2C1 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-EIF2C1 antibody
EIF2C1, NT (Protein Argonaute-1, Argonaute1, hAgo1, Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 2C 1, eIF-2C 1, eIF2C 1, Putative RNA-binding Protein Q99, AGO1) (AP)
ELISA: 1:1,000
Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of AGO1 Antibody (N-term) in K562 cell line lysates (35ug/lane). AGO1 (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(AGO1 Antibody (N-term) (RB18965) IHC analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human brain tissue followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of the AGO1 Antibody (N-term) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the argonaute family of proteins, which associate with small RNAs and have important roles in RNA interference (RNAi) and RNA silencing. This protein binds to microRNAs (miRNAs) or small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) and represses translation of mRNAs that are complementary to them. It is also involved in transcriptional gene silencing (TGS) of promoter regions that are complementary to bound short antigene RNAs (agRNAs), as well as in the degradation of miRNA-bound mRNA targets. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. A recent study showed this gene to be an authentic stop codon readthrough target, and that its mRNA could give rise to an additional C-terminally extended isoform by use of an alternative in-frame translation termination codon. Uniprot Description
AGO1: Required for RNA-mediated gene silencing (RNAi). Binds to short RNAs such as microRNAs (miRNAs) or short interfering RNAs (siRNAs), and represses the translation of mRNAs which are complementary to them. Lacks endonuclease activity and does not appear to cleave target mRNAs. Also required for transcriptional gene silencing (TGS) of promoter regions which are complementary to bound short antigene RNAs (agRNAs). Interacts with DDB1, DDX5, DDX6, DHX30, DHX36, DDX47, DICER1, EIF2C2/AGO2, ELAVL1, HNRNPF, IGF2BP1, ILF3, IMP8, MATR3, MOV10, PABPC1, PRMT5, RBM4, SART3, TNRC6B, UPF1 and YBX1. Associates with polysomes and messenger ribonucleoproteins (mNRPs). Interacts with LIMD1, WTIP and AJUBA. Belongs to the argonaute family. Ago subfamily.

Product Notes
The EIF2C1 ago1 (Catalog #AAA6473673) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The EIF2C1, NT (Protein Argonaute-1, Argonaute1, hAgo1, Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 2C 1, eIF-2C 1, eIF2C 1, Putative RNA-binding Protein Q99, AGO1) (AP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's EIF2C1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:50-1:100 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EIF2C1 ago1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EIF2C1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
