Rabbit anti-Human EDF1 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-EDF1 antibody
EDF1 antibody (pAb)
IP: 10ul per IP
WB: 1:500 dilution
Note: Many chromatin-bound proteins are not soluble in a low salt nuclear extract and fractionate to the pellet. Therefore, we recommend a High Salt/Sonication Protocol when preparing nuclear extracts for Western blot.
Western Blot (WB)
(EDF1 antibody (pAb) tested by Immunoprecipitation. 10 ul of EDF1 antibody was used to immunoprecipitate EDF1 from 250 ug of HeLa nuclear cell extract (lane 2). 10 ul of rabbit IgG was used as a negative control (lane 1). The immunoprecipitated protein was detected by Western blotting using the EDF1 antibody at a dilution of 1:500.)
Western Blot (WB)
(EDF1 antibody (pAb) tested by Western blot Nuclear extract of HeLa cells (30 ug) probed with EDF1 antibody (1:500).)
Background: The EDF1 (endothelial differentiation-related factor 1, MBF1) gene encodes a protein that may regulate endothelial cell differentiation. This protein has been found to act as a transcriptional coactivator by interconnecting the general transcription factor TATA element-binding protein (TBP) and gene-specific activators. It also enhances the DNA-binding activity of ATF1, ATF2, CREB1 and NR5A1.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a protein that may regulate endothelial cell differentiation, lipid metabolism, and hormone-induced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy. The encoded protein has also been found to act as a transcriptional coactivator by interconnecting the general transcription factor TATA element-binding protein (TBP) and gene-specific activators. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
Uniprot Description
EDF1: Transcriptional coactivator stimulating NR5A1 and ligand-dependent NR1H3/LXRA and PPARG transcriptional activities. Enhances the DNA-binding activity of ATF1, ATF2, CREB1 and NR5A1. Regulates nitric oxid synthase activity probably by sequestering calmodulin in the cytoplasm. May function in endothelial cells differentiation, hormone-induced cardiomyocytes hypertrophy and lipid metabolism. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The EDF1 edf1 (Catalog #AAA388829) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The EDF1 antibody (pAb) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's EDF1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). Applications Validated: IP: 10ul per IP WB: 1:500 dilution Note: Many chromatin-bound proteins are not soluble in a low salt nuclear extract and fractionate to the pellet. Therefore, we recommend a High Salt/Sonication Protocol when preparing nuclear extracts for Western blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EDF1 edf1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EDF1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
