NCBI Description

E2F transcription factors, such as E2F7, play an essential role in the regulation of cell cycle progression (Di Stefano et al., 2003 [PubMed 14633988]).[supplied by OMIM, May 2008]

Uniprot Description

E2F7: Along with E2F8, inhibitor of E2F-dependent transcription that is important for the control of the E2F1-TP53 apoptotic pathway. Directly represses E2F1 transcription. Binds DNA independently of DP proteins through the E2 recognition site, 5'-TTTC[CG]CGC-3'. Appears to regulate a subset of E2F-dependent genes whose products are required for normal cell cycle progession. Belongs to the E2F/DP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: DNA-binding; Transcription factor; Cell cycle regulation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q21.2

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; transcription factor complex

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; protein binding; transcription corepressor activity; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: DNA damage response, signal transduction by p53 class mediator; DNA damage response, signal transduction by p53 class mediator resulting in cell cycle arrest; negative regulation of cell proliferation; negative regulation of cytokinesis; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; placenta development; positive regulation of DNA endoreduplication; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; sprouting angiogenesis; transcription, DNA-dependent

Product Notes

The E2F7 e2f7 (Catalog #AAA421854) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti-E2F7 Antibody reacts with Tested: Human; Expected from sequence similarity: Human, Dog, Pig and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's E2F7 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 32000. Western Blot: Approx 90kDa band observed in Human Brain (Cerebellum) lysates (calculated MW of 99.9kDa according to NP_976328.2). Recommended concentration: 0.3-1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the E2F7 e2f7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: DLSKQKKFTP ERNP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "E2F7, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
