Related Product Information for anti-CD62E antibody
E-selectin, also known as CD62 antigen-like family member E (CD62E), endothelial-leukocyte adhesion molecule 1 (ELAM-1), or leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion molecule 2 (LECAM2), is a cell adhesion molecule expressed only on endothelial cells activated by cytokines. The ELAM gene is present in single copy in the human genome and contains 14 exons spanning about 13 kb of DNA[1]. E-selectin mediates the adhesion of tumor cells to endothelial cells, by binding to E-selectin ligands expressed by neutrophils, monocytes, eosinophils, memory-effector T-like lymphocytes, natural killer cells or cancer cells.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is found in cytokine-stimulated endothelial cells and is thought to be responsible for the accumulation of blood leukocytes at sites of inflammation by mediating the adhesion of cells to the vascular lining. It exhibits structural features such as the presence of lectin- and EGF-like domains followed by short consensus repeat (SCR) domains that contain 6 conserved cysteine residues. These proteins are part of the selectin family of cell adhesion molecules. Adhesion molecules participate in the interaction between leukocytes and the endothelium and appear to be involved in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Cell-surface glycoprotein having a role in immunoadhesion. Mediates in the adhesion of blood neutrophils in cytokine-activated endothelium through interaction with PSGL1/SELPLG. May have a role in capillary morphogenesis. Ref.1

Subunit structure: Interacts with PSGL1/SELPLG and PODXL2 through the sialyl Lewis X epitope. PSGL1 sulfation appears not to be required for this interaction. Ref.9 Ref.12

Subcellular location: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.

Polymorphism: A polymorphism in position 149 is associated with a higher risk of coronary artery disease (CAD). A significantly higher mutation frequency (Arg-149) is observed in patients with angiographically proven severe atherosclerosis compared with an unselected population (Ser-149).

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the selectin/LECAM family.Contains 1 C-type lectin domain.Contains 1 EGF-like domain.Contains 6 Sushi (CCP/SCR) domains.

Product Notes

The CD62E sele (Catalog #AAA355142) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-E-Selectin, CD62E antibody reacts with Human, mouse, rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's E-Selectin, CD62E can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). WB (1:500); ICC (1:50-200). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD62E sele for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "E-Selectin, CD62E, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
