NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is found in cytokine-stimulated endothelial cells and is thought to be responsible for the accumulation of blood leukocytes at sites of inflammation by mediating the adhesion of cells to the vascular lining. It exhibits structural features such as the presence of lectin- and EGF-like domains followed by short consensus repeat (SCR) domains that contain 6 conserved cysteine residues. These proteins are part of the selectin family of cell adhesion molecules. Adhesion molecules participate in the interaction between leukocytes and the endothelium and appear to be involved in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description

Product Notes
The SELE sele (Catalog #AAA9419713) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The E-Selectin Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's E-Selectin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:100-1:300. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SELE sele for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "E-Selectin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
