NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the dynamin subfamily of GTP-binding proteins. The encoded protein possesses unique mechanochemical properties used to tubulate and sever membranes, and is involved in clathrin-mediated endocytosis and other vesicular trafficking processes. Actin and other cytoskeletal proteins act as binding partners for the encoded protein, which can also self-assemble leading to stimulation of GTPase activity. More than sixty highly conserved copies of the 3' region of this gene are found elsewhere in the genome, particularly on chromosomes Y and 15. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Microtubule-associated force-producing protein involved in producing microtubule bundles and able to bind and hydrolyze GTP. Most probably involved in vesicular trafficking processes. Involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis.

Catalytic activity: GTP + H2O = GDP + phosphate.

Subunit structure: Interacts with CAV1 and SH3GLB1. Binds SH3GL1, SH3GL2 and SH3GL3

By similarity. Interacts with PHOCN. Interacts with PACSIN1, PACSIN2 and PACSIN3

By similarity. Interacts with SNX9. Interacts with MYO1E (via SH3 domain). Interacts with SNX33 (via SH3 domain). Ref.4 Ref.6 Ref.7

Subcellular location: Cytoplasm. Cytoplasm › cytoskeleton. Note: Microtubule-associated. Ref.4

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the dynamin family.Contains 1 GED domain.Contains 1 PH domain.

Product Notes

The DNM1 dnm1 (Catalog #AAA646525) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Dynorphin A, aa1-17 reacts with Human, Monkey, Porcine, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Dynorphin A, aa1-17 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Radioimmunoassay (RIA). Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Radioimmunoassays. Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-1:1250 Immunohistochemistry: Paraffin sections require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0 is recommended. Overnight incubation is recommended. Radioimmunoassay: 1:15000 Optimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DNM1 dnm1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dynorphin A, aa1-17, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
