NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Dynamins represent one of the subfamilies of GTP-binding proteins. These proteins share considerable sequence similarity over the N-terminal portion of the molecule, which contains the GTPase domain. Dynamins are associated with microtubules. They have been implicated in cell processes such as endocytosis and cell motility, and in alterations of the membrane that accompany certain activities such as bone resorption by osteoclasts. Dynamins bind many proteins that bind actin and other cytoskeletal proteins. Dynamins can also self-assemble, a process that stimulates GTPase activity. Five alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different proteins have been described. Additional alternatively spliced transcripts may exist, but their full-length nature has not been determined. Uniprot Description
DYN2: a cytoplasmic microtubule-associated force-producing protein involved in producing microtubule bundles and able to bind and hydrolyze GTP. Most probably involved in vesicular trafficking processes. May mediate the conventional clathrin-mediated uptake of surface receptors. Expressed in the postsynaptic density of neuronal cells. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes
The DNM2 dnm2 (Catalog #AAA629731) is an Antibody produced from Sheep and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Dynamin, phosphorylated (Ser778) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Dynamin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry (frozen). Dilution: Western Blot:1:1000, detects a band of approximately 95kD in rat synaptosomal lysates. Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DNM2 dnm2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dynamin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
