NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the DNAJ/Hsp40 protein family. DNAJ/Hsp40 proteins stimulate the ATPase activity of Hsp70 chaperones and play critical roles in protein folding, degradation, and multimeric complex assembly. The encoded protein is localized to mitochondria and mediates several cellular processes including proliferation, survival and apoptotic signal transduction. The encoded protein also plays a critical role in tumor suppression through interactions with oncogenic proteins including ErbB2 and the p53 tumor suppressor protein. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Uniprot Description

DNAJA3: Modulates apoptotic signal transduction or effector structures within the mitochondrial matrix. Affect cytochrome C release from the mitochondria and caspase 3 activation, but not caspase 8 activation. Isoform 1 increases apoptosis triggered by both TNF and the DNA-damaging agent mytomycin C; in sharp contrast, isoform 2 suppresses apoptosis. Can modulate IFN-gamma- mediated transcriptional activity. Isoform 2 may play a role in neuromuscular junction development as an effector of the MUSK signaling pathway. Interacts with JAK2, HSPA9B and IFN-gammaR2 chain. Interacts with Ras GTPase-activating protein 1 (RASA1). Isoform 2 interacts with MUSK (via the cytoplasmic domain). Widely expressed with highest levels in heart, liver, lung and skeletal muscles. Also expressed in keratinocytes. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The DNAJA3 dnaja3 (Catalog #AAA8245255) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-DNAJA3 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DNAJA3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). WB: 1/500 - 1/2000; IF/ICC: 1/50 - 1/100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DNAJA3 dnaja3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DNAJA3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
