NCBI Description

This gene encodes a component of a mitochondrial 2-oxoglutarate-dehydrogenase-complex-like protein involved in the degradation pathways of several amino acids, including lysine. Mutations in this gene are associated with 2-aminoadipic 2-oxoadipic aciduria and Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease Type 2Q. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]

Uniprot Description

DHTKD1: The 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex catalyzes the overall conversion of 2-oxoglutarate to succinyl-CoA and CO(2). It contains multiple copies of three enzymatic components: 2- oxoglutarate dehydrogenase (E1), dihydrolipoamide succinyltransferase (E2) and lipoamide dehydrogenase (E3). Belongs to the alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase family.

Protein type: EC 1.2.4.2; Oxidoreductase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10p14

Cellular Component: cytosol; mitochondrial matrix; mitochondrion; oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex

Molecular Function: oxoglutarate dehydrogenase (succinyl-transferring) activity; thiamine pyrophosphate binding

Biological Process: generation of precursor metabolites and energy; glycolytic process; hemopoietic progenitor cell differentiation; tricarboxylic acid cycle

Disease: 2-aminoadipic 2-oxoadipic Aciduria; Charcot-marie-tooth Disease, Axonal, Type 2q

Product Notes

The DHTKD1 dhtkd1 (Catalog #AAA6292090) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DHTKD1, ID (DHTKD1, KIAA1630, Probable 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase E1 component DHKTD1, mitochondrial, Dehydrogenase E1 and transketolase domain-containing protein 1) (PE) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DHTKD1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DHTKD1 dhtkd1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DHTKD1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
