Related Product Information for anti-DAZ2 antibody
This gene is a member of the DAZ gene family and is a
candidate for the human Y-chromosomal azoospermia factor (AZF). Its
expression is restricted to premeiotic germ cells, particularly in
spermatogonia. It encodes an RNA-binding protein that is important
for spermatogenesis. Four copies of this gene are found on
chromosome Y within palindromic duplications; one pair of genes is
part of the P2 palindrome and the second pair is part of the P1
palindrome. Each gene contains a 2.4 kb repeat including a 72-bp
exon, called the DAZ repeat; the number of DAZ repeats is variable
and there are several variations in the sequence of the DAZ repeat.
Each copy of the gene also contains a 10.8 kb region that may be
amplified; this region includes five exons that encode an RNA
recognition motif (RRM) domain. This gene contains one copy of the
10.8 kb repeat. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript
variants encoding different isoforms.

Uniprot Description

DAZ2: RNA-binding protein that plays an essential role in spermatogenesis. May act by binding to the 3'-UTR of mRNAs and regulating their translation. Defects in DAZ2 may be a cause of spermatogenic failure Y-linked type 2 (SPGFY2). It is a disorder resulting in the absence (azoospermia) or reduction (oligozoospermia) of sperm in the semen, leading to male infertility. AZFc deletions in the Yq11.23 region including the DAZ genes are the most common known genetic cause of human male infertility. Belongs to the RRM DAZ family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: RNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Yq11.223

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: RNA binding; nucleotide binding

Biological Process: multicellular organismal development; single fertilization; spermatogenesis; cell differentiation

Disease: Spermatogenic Failure, Y-linked, 2

Product Notes

The DAZ2 daz2 (Catalog #AAA9204452) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 518-546. The DAZ2 Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DAZ2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DAZ2 daz2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DAZ2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
