Related Product Information for anti-CRYAB antibody
Crystallin AB (CryAB) is a developmentally regulated small heat shock protein known to protect cells from stress damage. It may also play an important role in the Golgi reorganization during cell division. CryAB is known to be associated with a number of neurodegenerative pathologies such as Alzheimer disease amd multiple sclerosis. As well, it has been found to be expressed in breast tumors of patients with shorter survival, suggesting that it may be a useful marker in identifying aggressive breast cancer.

Uniprot Description

CRYAB: a major structural protein of the eye lens. A member of the small heat shock protein (sHSP also known as the HSP20) family. Alpha-B is expressed in the lens as well as other tissues. Elevated expression of alpha-B crystallin occurs in many neurological diseases; a missense mutation cosegregated in a family with a desmin-related myopathy.

Protein type: Chaperone; Heat shock protein

Cellular Component: mitochondrion; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; cytosol; nucleus; Z disc

Molecular Function: protein homodimerization activity; metal ion binding; unfolded protein binding; structural constituent of eye lens

Biological Process: tubulin folding; lens development in camera-type eye; muscle development; negative regulation of intracellular transport; response to hydrogen peroxide; response to hypoxia; negative regulation of caspase activity; protein homooligomerization

Product Notes

The CRYAB cryab (Catalog #AAA6000709) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CRYAB, CT (Alpha-crystallin B Chain, Alpha(B)-crystallin, Heat Shock Protein beta-5, HspB5, Renal Carcinoma Antigen NY-REN-27, Rosenthal Fiber Component, CRYA2) reacts with Bovine, Human, Mouse, Porcine, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CRYAB can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 10ug/ml. Validated for use on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with C7944-60E, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CRYAB cryab for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CRYAB, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
