Rabbit CMTM8 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-CMTM8 antibody
Anti-CMTM8 Antibody
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Immunohistochemical analysis of CMTM8 staining in human tonsil formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene belongs to the chemokine-like factor gene superfamily, a novel family that is similar to the chemokine and the transmembrane 4 superfamilies. This gene is one of several chemokine-like factor genes located in a cluster on chromosome 3. This gene acts as a tumor suppressor, and plays a role in regulating the migration of tumor cells. The encoded protein is thought to function as a a negative regulator of epidermal growth factor-induced signaling. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]
Uniprot Description
CMTM8: a widely distributed protein with four transmembrane regions and a MARVEL domain. Associates with the epidermal growth factor receptor. Transfection into several cell lines suppresses EGF-induced cell proliferation and increases the rate of receptor endocytosis. The lack of EGFR-mediated signaling induces cells to undergo apoptosis via caspase-dependent and -independent pathways. Knockdown of CMTM8 by siRNA promotes cell proliferation and delayed EGFR endocytosis. Two splice-variant human isoforms have been reproted.
Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3p22.3
Cellular Component: cytoplasm; extracellular space; integral to membrane; nucleoplasm

Product Notes
The CMTM8 cmtm8 (Catalog #AAA8241915) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-CMTM8 Antibody reacts with Human, Bovine and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CMTM8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Western Blot: (1/500 - 1/1000); Immunohistochemistry: (1/100 - 1/200). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CMTM8 cmtm8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CMTM8, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
