Related Product Information for anti-CHK antibody
The major pathway for the biosynthesis of phosphatidylcholine occurs via the CDP-choline pathway. Choline kinase alpha is the initial enzyme in the sequence and may play a regulatory role. This protein also catalyzes the phosphorylation of ethanolamine. The antibody for this protein recognizes both isoforms.

NCBI Description

The major pathway for the biosynthesis of phosphatidylcholine occurs via the CDP-choline pathway. The protein encoded by this gene is the initial enzyme in the sequence and may play a regulatory role. The encoded protein also catalyzes the phosphorylation of ethanolamine. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CHKA: Has a key role in phospholipid biosynthesis and may contribute to tumor cell growth. Catalyzes the first step in phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis. Contributes to phosphatidylethanolamine biosynthesis. Phosphorylates choline and ethanolamine. Has higher activity with choline. Belongs to the choline/ethanolamine kinase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Lipid Metabolism - glycerophospholipid; EC 2.7.1.82; Kinase, other; EC 2.7.1.32

Product Notes

The CHK chka (Catalog #AAA6373873) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CHK (Choline Kinase alpha, CK, CHETK-alpha, Ethanolamine Kinase, EK, CHKA, CKI) (AP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CHK can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CHK chka for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CHK, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
