Related Product Information for anti-CGRP antibody
Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) is a member of the calcitonin family of peptides, which in humans exists in two forms, alpha-CGRP and beta-CGRP. CGRP is produced in both peripheral and central neurons and is a potent peptide vasodilator and can function inthe transmission of nociception. It dilates a variety of vessels including the coronary, cerebral and systemic vasculature. Its abundance in the CNS also points toward a neurotransmitter or neuromodulator role. Increased levels of CGRP have been reported in migraine and temporomandibular joint disorder patients as well as a variety of other diseases such as cardiac failure, hypertension, and sepsis. Several monoclonal antibody therapies targeting CGRP and it’s receptor have been developed for patients suffering from migraine attacks.

Product Notes

The CGRP (Catalog #AAA524560) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Human CGRP, Purified, (Polyclonal)(Goat IgG) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CGRP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). ELISA: 1:500-1:1K IHC-P: 4ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CGRP for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CGRP, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
